ASUS Maximus VII Formula, AMI version 3003
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, SP1
I spoke with ASUS Technical Support about this driver issue.
After installing all the ASUS drivers, ASUS said that this is
a driver issue for Microsoft to handle.
The problem is that Windows Device Manager says that
Windows 7 cannot find a driver for an Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller.
Location information: PCI bus 10, device 0, function 0
However, all the USB3 and USB2 ports work.
It is unclear what this USB Controller is and why there is no driver for it.
In the Windows Device Manager, I see a warning of
Other Devices | Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller
'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)'
PCI bus 10, device 0, function 0

I context menu and selected uninstall.
In the Windows 'Add or Remove Programs', I uninstall the
Intel_USB3_Win7_V30141
Asmedia_USB3_Win7-8-8-1_VER116150
I shutdown.
I unplug all USB devices except the mouse.
I reboot.
I install
Intel_USB3_Win7_V30141
Asmedia_USB3_Win7-8-8-1_VER116150
I reboot
In the Windows Device Manager, I still see a warning of

Universal Serial Bus Usb Controller Driver Download
'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)'
In Device Manager, I also tried uninstalling all the USB controllers so no USB device shows.
Universal Serial Device Usb Driver
After a rebooting, and the drivers automatically install, the error still occurred.
In Device Manager, I told it to search for a driver on the Internet, but none were found.
Any suggestions how to solve this issue are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
My HP computer running Windows 7 became erratic about recognizing the wireless mouse. When I checked the forum, I found others had the same problem of the computer not recognizing the driver. I followed the advice given by a Microsoft support engineer meghmala to delete all the drivers under Universal Serial Bus Controller, and restart the computer so that it would reinstall the drivers. Most of them appear to have been reinstalled, but t.he computer gave me an error message -- 'Universal Serial Bus doesn't have a driver'. I went over to the HP website and downloaded the latest chipset 'Intel USB Host Controller Driver' but I still get the same message. I have been, of course, restarting the computer between each effort.
So, do I need this 'Universal Serial Bus'? It sounds serious. If so. where do I get it? I've search the Microsoft website to the point of frustration, and I described above what I found at the HP website.
And then, of course, I still want to get the computer to recognized the wireless mouse.
