If you've arrived at this article because you got an error message that PowerPoint can't read a file or that the presentation cannot be opened, it's likely that Office has blocked the file for security reasons. You can unblock the file so it can be opened:
Open Windows File Explorer (Open Start in Windows and type File Explorer.)
Locate the problematic file on your computer.
Right-click the file and select Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, look for an Unblock button near the bottom right. If it exists, click Unblock, then click Apply, and then click OK to dismiss the dialog box.
Now, attempt to open the presentation again. Right-click the file in File Explorer and select Open.

A QBX file is an accountant’s transfer copy of a QuickBooks company file. A company file in this format cannot be modified aside from adding journal notes. If a client has sent you a QBX file, you cannot use it until you either convert it to a “regular” accountant’s copy file (QBA) or a company file (QBW). You can only open or convert files saved in the current version of QuickBooks or the year prior.
Convert Accountant’s Transfer File to Accountant’s File
1.
Click “File,” “Accountant’s Copy” and “Open & Convert Transfer File.”
2.
Read the Accountant’s Copy overview and click “Next.”
3.
Review the information provided and click “Next.”
4.
Browse to the computer or network location where the QBX file is saved, select the file and click “Open.”
5.
Enter the file password if applicable and click “OK.”
6.
Read the information about the file and click “OK.”
7.
Choose a location to save the QBA file, change the filename if desired and click “Save.”

Enter the password for the file if needed. The password is the same as the associated company file’s administrator password.

Click “OK” if you want to upgrade the file to your version of QuickBooks.

Convert Accountant’s Transfer File to Company File

Click “File,” “Accountant’s Copy” and “Convert Accountant’s Copy to Company File/QBW.”

Select the QBX file and enter a filename and location for the company file. When entering a filename, be sure to include “QBW” as the file extension. Click “Save” when you’re finished.

Remove the Accountant’s Copy restrictions on the company file from which the QBX file was originally generated. You can do this by opening the original company file, clicking “File,” Accountant’s Copy” and “Remove Restrictions,” or by clicking “File | Accountant’s Copy | Client Activities | Remove Restrictions,” depending on your QuickBooks edition. Check the box next to “Yes, I want to remove the Accountant's Copy restrictions” and click “OK.”

- An accountant’s copy file enables you to import your accountant’s changes into your company file automatically. However, if you convert the file to another company file, you must add any modifications to the original file manually.
